Experience the vibrant spirit of Jawoyn country in the Top End with the NORTHERN STEAMER. This design features the cicada known as the Northern Steamer (Macrotristria frenchi). These majestic cicadas announce the onset of the build-up to the wet season with their iconic "nit-nit" sound - from which Nitmiluk National Park (Jawoyn for 'place of the cicada') gets its name. 
 
You know its a NORTHERN STEAMER when you hear the nit-nit cacophony.
